This is my first attempt at making any type of vehicle out of clay. Since I am a muscle/sport car fan, I have tried drawing my favorite models, but they didn't turn out as well as I hoped. So, one afternoon I was sitting at my desk, out of ideas for canes, and I had an inspiration, why not try a big rig. Part of the reason was I knew someone I could give it to, and it's a fairly simple shape. I didn't have a photo, so I forgot the wheel-wells until after it was baked. So, I added them on (and the second baking turned the top of the truck just a tiny bit darker than the rest of it), and proceeded to carve out the windows to allow for a bit  of grey clay to be pushed in (like matchbox cars without open windows) but I decided to carve out the inside totally. Before long, I had made a tiny guy to sit inside, with a steering wheel in front of him. You can see the approximate size of the truck with the dime next to it. I am working on my second car, which is an 80s corvette. I can't wait to finish it, it is up in my room with the superglue drying (for the wheels, I glue them on afterwards). I will post pictures as soon as I am done. Meanwhile...take a look at the pics below of the 'big' rig.
